In November 2018, I gave up alcohol and sugar for the whole month raising over £1,000 for the Nicholls Spinal Injury Foundation.
Giving up refined sugar is not easy as it’s literally in everything! I was basically living on vegetables and fruit, everything thats processed contains traces of sugar so it made me have a very healthy diet. I ate pineapple and grapes when I had sugar cravings also lots of salads and homemade soups, the temptation wasn’t as bad as the thought of failing, knowing I was doing this for charity made me even more determined to succeed. It was difficult at times but I’m happy to have achieved it!
